Free Print Proof: 100 Checks Before We Print

A print-shop desk with letter copies, digital cards, and a loupe set up for a free print proof inspection
This preproof is a staff inspection, not a self-serve thumbnail.

LAST UPDATE: 09 / 16 / 2026

A 55printing free print proof runs a 101-point staff board before we ask you to approve. Dead QR codes, type under 6 pt, overlapped text, QR under 0.8 in, and more than 50 other famous file issues can be fixed at no charge when you ask. Color copies, black and white copies, and Digital Fast jobs stay on this path.

55printing free print proof

101 staff checks. Free fixes for dead QR codes, small type, overlapped text, and 50+ famous issues after you ask. Copies and digital stay included.

Typical instant proof

GotPrint Instant Online Proof does not check the file. UPrinting 33-point review does not fix typos or low-res art. Walk-up copies print whatever USB holds.

Useful note: The 101-point board is a staff review aid. SEND still waits for a human eye on cyan safe and magenta cut. We do not silently redesign your art. Standard trim and bleed work is the house path. Famous-issue fixes wait for your Request Changes click.

An office manager uploads 249 letter color copies of a QR handout. Print on 24 lb Bond, single sided, is $33.62 before ship. One dead QR on that run is 249 wasted sheets. A 55printing free print proof is the step that catches that square before the press starts.

What a 55printing free print proof actually inspects

Staff open a 101-point board on every preproof. The live list lives in the PRE-PROOFING tab as of September 16, 2026. Categories cover cyan safe, magenta cut, guides, stretch, QR, type, files, color, layout, production, identity, edges, multi-set copies, house setup, live review thumbs, and send law.

101-point staff board, September 16, 2026
Group Checks What staff look at
Safe / cut / edges 13 Words, logo, QR, and corners vs cyan and magenta
Guides / size / ratio 12 Finished size, bleed, contain, no stretch
QR and type 14 Readable code, 0.8 in floor, 6 pt floor, overlap
Files, color, layout 18 Proof opens, CMYK vs RGB, folds, EDDM postage
Production, identity, send 16 Low-res, name and email on the card, no self-approve
Copies, house, live page 28 First / mid / last pages, B&W stays B&W, thumbs load

That is 101 named checks. The board does not lock SEND. A person still looks at every side. Small proof PDFs open at 2x so a 3.5 x 2 card is readable at Chrome 100%. Offset proofs write at 350 DPI. Letter copy proofs write at 300 DPI unless the stack is a heavy multi-page file.

A technician reviews a digital card and a letter copy for QR size, small type, and overlapped text before print
Dead QR codes, type under 6 pt, and overlapped text are free-fix rows when you ask.

Famous issues we fix at no charge

The preproof is also a proofread. We measure QR print size. Under 0.8 in gets a friendly alert. We measure mounted type. Under 6 pt gets a friendly alert. We try to decode every QR. An AI-painted square that will not scan is named. Overlapped text, clipped headlines, type on the magenta cut, and low-res photos go on the note.

The house list of famous issues is 55 named rows. Dead QR codes, small texts, and overlapped texts are the three you asked about first. The rest include missing bleed, stretched circles, white-on-white type, leftover transparency, stock watermarks, mismatched front and back, EDDM postage over type, trifold panels that miss, B&W pages that picked up color, and a Drive Share-an-item link left in the art.

Free-fix rows customers ask for first
Issue House floor What we do
QR will not scan Must decode Name it. Rebuild on the same square after you ask
QR prints too small 0.8 in min Alert. Enlarge on request
Type too small to read 6 pt min Alert. Enlarge on request
Overlapped text Blocks must not collide Separate or restack after you ask
Type on the cut Inside cyan Pull live words in. Background still bleeds
Low-res photo or logo Warn under 300 DPI Offer a free replace if you send a better file

We do not silently rewrite your copy. A grammar hit on stylised art is noisy. Only a high-confidence line, quoted in full, goes on the customer note. You click Request Changes. Then the fix is free.

Color copies, black and white copies, and digital stay on a free print proof

Many online printers sell a cheap instant proof on cards, then skip a real check on copy packets. We do the opposite. Color copies, black and white copies, and Digital Fast products get the same staff inspection path as offset cards and mailers.

Live form cells fetched September 16, 2026, before shipping and tax:

Live shop cells that still get this staff check
Job Print cell Why the proof matters
1 letter color copy, 24 lb Bond, 4/0 $0.14 One bad margin still reprints the sheet
249 letter color copies, same spec $33.62 One dead QR is 249 wasted pages
1 letter black and white copy, 24 lb Bond $0.06 A color logo here becomes gray unless we flag it
49 letter black and white copies $6.62 Same ground floor as color, $9.95 to 33140
49 Digital Fast 3.5 x 2 cards, 100 lb Gloss Cover, 4/0 $15.48 Wallet type under 6 pt will not read at handshake distance

Color copies packed with ground to 33140 start at $10.09 for one letter page ($0.14 print + $9.95 ship). Black and white packed starts at $10.01 ($0.06 + $9.95). Digital Fast 49 cards pack at $33.37 ($15.48 + $17.89 ground). The color copies page and the black and white copies page both say a digital proof comes before we print. Digital Fast cards add about 1 business day when you keep the FREE Digital PDF Proof option.

How this board compares with other online printers

We checked competitor proof pages on September 16, 2026. GotPrint Instant Online Proof is a preview. They will not check the file. Their manually processed PDF proof is a fee on most products. They still do not check typos. UPrinting runs a free 33-point file review and says they do not fix typographical errors or low-resolution images. 4OVER4 publishes a free 30-point technician check. Staples copies marketing lists from 32 cents a black page and 80 cents a color page. A walk-up machine has no 101-point board.

55printing publishes 101 named checks and a 55-row famous-issue list. The gap is the free fix after you ask, plus copies and digital on the same path. That is store credit of time, not a mailed hard-copy press proof. A mailed color proof is a different product at shops that sell it.

Offset cards on one side of a desk and digital color copies on the other to show CMYK versus RGB file paths
Offset stays CMYK GRACoL. Copies and Digital Fast stay RGB.

CMYK for offset, RGB for digital, on the same staff path

Offset cards, postcards, flyers, EDDM, and brochures convert to CMYK with GRACoL2006_Coated1v2. Copies and Digital Fast stay RGB. Mixing those paths is a famous miss. A neon web red on an offset card is a color flag. A black and white copy that picked up a color click is a copies flag. The free print proof names the path so staff do not CMYK a digital packet or leave offset as wild RGB.

If you are buying the short digital card stack, open Digital Fast business cards. The default 49 on 100 lb Gloss Cover prints at $15.48. If you need 14 pt offset, stay on economical business cards. The proof rings on offset are the official template cyan and magenta pixels, not boxes we draw.

Download the 100-point preproof sheet

Print the two-page sheet. Page 1 holds the 101-point groups. Page 2 holds the 55 famous free-fix rows, the 0.8 in QR floor, and the 6 pt type floor.

Honest limitation: Counts are the live PRE-PROOFING board on September 16, 2026: 101 checks, 55 famous-issue rows. Print cells were fetched the same day from the live color copies, black and white copies, and Digital Fast card pages. Competitor proof rules were read from their public help pages that day. Print As-Is skips the free-fix path. A mailed hard-copy press proof is not this article.

Questions shops ask before they approve

What is included in a 55printing free print proof?

Staff run 101 named checks: cyan safe, magenta cut, bleed, stretch, QR decode, QR print size, type size, overlap, files, color path, folds, EDDM postage, thumbs, and send law. Color copies, black and white copies, and Digital Fast jobs use the same board. You approve on the review page. One letter color copy at $0.14 and 249 copies at $33.62 both get the check. The download sheet lists every group.

Do you really fix dead QR codes and small text for free?

Yes, after you click Request Changes. A QR that will not decode, a QR under 0.8 in, type under 6 pt, and overlapped text are free-fix rows. We name them on the note. We do not silently redraw your letters. A 49-card Digital Fast run at $15.48 is enough money to catch a 5 pt phone line before the handshake. Send a better file if the photo is soft. The replace is free when you ask.

Is the free print proof also on color copies and black and white copies?

Yes. That is the gap this page owns. Walk-up machines print the USB file. Our color copies page and black and white copies page both keep a digital proof before press. One black letter page prints at $0.06. Forty-nine of that spec print at $6.62. Ground to 33140 stays on the $9.95 floor. A color logo on the black and white form becomes gray unless the board flags it.

How is this different from a GotPrint or UPrinting proof?

GotPrint Instant Online Proof does not check the file. Their manual PDF proof is a fee on most products and still skips typos. UPrinting publishes a free 33-point review and says they do not fix typos or low-res images. 4OVER4 publishes a 30-point free digital check. A 55printing free print proof is 101 named checks plus free famous-issue fixes after you ask. Copies and digital stay on the same path.

Does this staff proof add a day to Digital Fast cards?

The live Digital Fast card page, fetched September 16, 2026, says the FREE Digital PDF Proof option adds about 1 business day. Default 49 cards on 100 lb Gloss Cover print at $15.48. Express is 1-2 business days after approval and payment, plus the default cover +1. Keep the proof on. Print As-Is is faster only if you accept an unchecked wallet card. Ground on that 49 to 33140 is $17.89.

What if I already chose Print As-Is?

Print As-Is means we print the file as received. The 101-point staff board and the famous-issue free-fix path do not run. If the job is 249 color copies at $33.62, a dead QR will print 249 times. Change Proofing Options to FREE Digital Proof before you pay if you want the board. After the fact, upload a corrected file and ask for a new version. Identity on the card stays name, email, and phone when we have them.

Do you convert my copies file to CMYK?

No. Color copies and Digital Fast stay RGB. Offset cards, postcards, flyers, EDDM, and brochures convert to CMYK with GRACoL2006_Coated1v2. Mixing those paths is a board miss. A neon web red on an offset postcard is a color flag. A black and white packet that picked up a color click is a copies flag. The board names the path so staff do not convert the wrong job.

Where do I start a job that gets this free print proof?

Open color copies for a packet, black and white copies for toner-only pages, or Digital Fast cards for a 1-2 day wallet stack. Upload a 300 DPI PDF. Keep live words inside cyan if you buy full bleed. Regular white-borders copies keep a 0.25 in inset. Then wait for the review page. The shop-wide story is this article. The card-only sibling is the economical-card proof checklist. Your number will not be 101. That is the staff board count.
