Extend method

Smart AI uses FLUX outpaint when configured, with GPT Image as a service fallback. Bleed extend is an honest local soft-edge stretch, never labeled as AI.

How AI Uncrop helps print jobs

Many designs are built to the final trim size with text sitting close to the edge. On a business card or flyer, that looks fine on screen and fails in production when the trim is even a hair off. This tool adds extra border using geometry-controlled AI outpainting (FLUX when available), then pastes your original artwork back so wording never changes.

Design Studio geometry

Print-bleed presets follow the same contract as our Design Studio and proofs pipeline: choose an assumed DPI (default 300), then add equal inch margins on every side. Standard bleed is 0.125". After you download, place the file on a full-bleed template, or ask our team to mount it for a free PDF proof.

Fair-use limits

You can run 3 extends per day per IP, with a short wait between runs, and a 12 MB file cap (JPG, PNG, WebP, or PDF). PDF pages are previewed in your browser; only the page you select is sent for extend.

Best results

  • Solid-color or simple photo backgrounds extend cleanly.
  • Busy patterns, faces, and hands may need a second pass or staff cleanup.
  • Always review the after preview and the 100% seam zoom before printing.
  • Export PNG for graphics; JPG is fine for photos.

AI Uncrop FAQ

Can I upload a PDF?

Yes. Drop a multi-page PDF and use the preview carousel to choose the page. Only that page is extended; your original PDF is not uploaded as a whole file.

Will the AI change my text?

No. After the border is generated, we lock your original image pixels back into place. Only the new border area is AI-generated (or soft bleed-stretch if you chose Bleed extend).

Is Bleed extend the same as AI?

No. Bleed extend is a fast local soft-edge continue. It is labeled honestly and is useful for solid colors. AI outpaint is better for photos and complex backgrounds.

What if AI is busy or not configured?

Smart AI falls back to another image service when possible. If AI cannot run, choose Bleed extend, or use the File Uploader for free prepress help.

Do you store my file?

We process the image to return a result and enforce fair-use limits by IP. Temporary job files are cleaned automatically. Do not upload confidential medical or payment documents here.
